What's the difference between <br> and <br />? I've just started noticing the 'br slash' version, and was wondering what it's for.
Pixy answers:*
The <br /> version is XHTML compliant, which means that it is also valid XML and can be parsed by XML parsers. There is a certain value to this, but I just dumped a plate of lasagne in my lap, so I have to go.
* It's good to be the Pixy.
Posted by Ted at September 12, 2003 03:14 PM | TrackBackI didn't even think about how those two commands would be interpreted. Thanks for leaving the original post up there. People were starting to forget that I'm often an idiot. LOL

Dang, and now I've removed it. (Actually, I put it back into "Draft".)
So now you're referring to a post people can't see - I guess that serves that same purpose!

Posted by: Susie at September 12, 2003 04:42 PMWhat a relief! Before opening the comments, I looked behind my monitor to see if it had fallen back there.
Posted by: Ted at September 12, 2003 04:54 PMYeah, that's where I usually lose my posts.
Posted by: Pixy Misa at September 12, 2003 05:14 PMMine usually end up under the keyboard....
Posted by: Susie at September 12, 2003 05:19 PMThis is sad. The only thing I understood in Pixy's answer was the part about dumping lasagne in his lap.
I am sooo computer-stupid.
Hey, maybe if I started dumping pasta in my own lap, I could become as adept as he is?
(I'll try anything at this point.)
