Greetings!

I always swore that I would never subject myself to being a new kid again, but I MUST say, this is quite enjoyable! Thank you for the cake! And the invitation! I am still trying to figure out how to change my default template (yes, I am a little slow) - the configuration is quite different than the templates at the hosting site that I was so kindly rescued from!

Many thanks!

What specific problems are you having with your templates? You can always post here and either get some advice or some direct assistance. Also, in the top post, there are some links to MT Support Forum, MT deafult template pages, etc... Or you can drop me an e-mail and I'll do what I can to help you out.

I'll put together a post of sites I know that have free templates/css to download and use. I can have that by tonight sometime, so check back for that list.

Welcome, and don't be afraid to ask questions. The folks here answer in plain language (lower voice) or I'd be totally doomed.

Madfish,

I was trying to put a little color on my page. The blog skin that I am using now DOES come coded for movable type, but darned if I can figure the thing out. Also - I got confused with all the templates. I will have to sit down and figure this out when I have more free time...thank you for the list, and thanks to all who have been so welcoming! It is great!

I'll try to put a post together for templates and stylesheets tonight so all the new members can tell what is going on. It was really confusing to me at first too.

Meanwhile, you will put color into your sheet in the Style-sheet. It is accessed through the edit templates section. What I do when editing a template is to first copy the tamplate into Notepad and save it... just in case I mess something up and can't fix it. Then, I just let her rip. It is a good idea to only make one change at a time, save, rebuild indexes, and then view your change. If you make several changes at one time, you might forget what change affected what part of your blog and get all freaked out.

Try looking at one of the free templates/stylesheet sites for something you like. There should be instructions as to how to proceed.
