Is anyone having problems with the update/trackback/ping thingy?
It keeps expressing irritation with me when I post.
Posted by Bravo Romeo Delta at April 21, 2004 05:53 PMThe update places only let you ping them once every while, so if you post a lot they get annoyed with you--like "Ping 'http://rpc.weblogs.com/RPC2' failed: Ping error: Thanks for the ping, however we can only accept one ping every half-hour. It's cool that you're updating so often, however, if I may be so bold as to offer some advice -- take a break, you'll enjoy life more" or they are on their lunch break--"Ping 'http://rpc.weblogs.com/RPC2' failed: HTTP error: 500 Can't connect to rpc.weblogs.com:80 (connect: Connection refused)"--it's not you, it's them....

You can turn them off in Weblog Config, in the Preferences page.
Posted by Pixy Misa at April 21, 2004 06:14 PMI constantly get errors reported when I post. It's whatever it says at the top of the post page that says you can check the activity log, if ya wanna know why.
Well, I did that once and got a headache...lol.
So, now, like an annoying 'idiot light' on a dashboard that means nothing by being on 24/7, I ignore it.
