I ran across a neat color thingy yesterday over at OfficeSlayer... that guy writes some pretty cool thingys.
This one is called Color Pallete
It will create 10 shades of the base color, located top-left, at varying degrees of opacity. The top row emulates opacity over a white background, the bottom over black. The opacity values are 100% opaque, 75%, 50%, 25% and 10% on the top row. The bottom row begins at 85% rather than 100% and continues on as the first. If you are trying to get a selection of the same base color, this is the tool to use.Type a valid six character hexidecimal value in the text box above and hit the "ok" button. The "tool tips" for each swatch display the color's RGB components.
While you are over there, check out some of his other stuff in the sidebar. I think it would be interesting even to the technologically challenged amoung us.
