What is the code for centering in my sidebar?

1) With CSS (sstylesheet), go to the .side class and use this code text-align: center;
2) With HTML (main index), in the div class designation, <div class="side" align="center">
3) Enclose your text and/or image between <center> and </center> tags
If that did the trick for you, you are very welcome! If not, just let me know what exactly you are trying to center and I'll shoot you the code!!

I tinkered a bit after posting the question, but, I think your method will be better.
