I just got an e-mail from the paper in Harrisburg, and they are going to do a story on blogging.
They asked if they can feature me in their story. I said yes, but I guess people are going to find out about me. I wonder how people like my boss will react if they read my stuff.
I guess we'll see.
Posted by Tom Jefferson at July 21, 2004 10:14 PMIt seems that the blogosphere is 'what's hot' these days. Bill over at http://www.indcjournal.com/ has had a wave of media looking into his stuff as are a number of the bigger fish.
Posted by Rusty Shackleford at July 21, 2004 10:26 PMTom,
This is your opportunity to be the "Deep Throat" of the blog world. You can be the anonymous source of all things blog related.
Since I've read several stories of people getting canned because of their blog, www.dooce.com being one of them, I'd be careful of letting the world know who you are.
Posted by Howard at July 21, 2004 11:05 PMI don't say anything bad that would warrent me getting canned. I never mention work, and I post a lot of pictures of my cats.
Why was dooce.com person fired?
Posted by Tom at July 21, 2004 11:37 PMActually it's Carlisle, PA. But many of you wouldn't know Carlisle.
My husband is applying to residencies both in Harrisburg and Lancaster. Though, the one in Harrisburg is not as high on the list as some others, particularly the ones in Ohio. It would be kinda cool to be near another mu.nu blogger. Though, I am one of those liberal communists. Not sure you'd want to meet up with me for a beer or anything.
(actually, I'm just a bit left of center, really)
You know...we should do one of those Bravenet Location Maps that show where all of us are. I know I would like to see that.
Posted by Linda at July 22, 2004 01:47 AMUm, Linda? See where it says "map thingy"? That's a map thingy.
Posted by Pixy Misa at July 22, 2004 01:56 AMYeah...but that's for ALL visitors, not just munuvians.
*I really didn't see it the first time around, though, and feel like an ass now*
Posted by Linda at July 22, 2004 03:07 AMWait a minute. I thought *I* was the token liberal.
Posted by Jennifer at July 22, 2004 07:49 PMDooce is Heather Armstrong...she was fired a couple of years ago for posting about her work, although she did it with the knowledge of her supervisors and they discussed how they would be portrayed on the site. She lives in Salt Lake City now with her husband and new baby, and has an incredible blog. Check her out if you haven't already. You can link to her from me...
Posted by ensie at July 23, 2004 02:29 AMApplication went out today for the residency in Lancaster. We should be visiting that area, perhaps even a couple of times, in the next few months. Let me know if you'd like to meet up, Tom and I'll see if our unforgiving interview schedule will allow for such a thing.
You don't mind toddlers, do you?
