Yikes! :(

Are you using MT Blacklist to block them?

If there's a common URL or IP address we can use MT Blacklist to automatically remove them, rebuild your blog, and ban them in the future.

Well, this has happened before and I had to individually click each address and then banned and deleted them. There was only one comment, but when I clicked to MT Blacklist it, about 2000 appeared (same as before).

Well, then MT Blacklist can zap them all for you with one click and the job is done! Yay for MT Blacklist!

Pixy- how with one click? I think you are still an author on my blog...can you take a look and tell me what exactly to do?

You have to go into MT Blacklist: http://blog.mu.nu/cgi/mt-blacklist.cgi. You can also get there by clicking on the link in the comment email that says "De-spam using MT Blacklist".

If all the spam came from the same IP address, or refers to the same web site, MT Blacklist will zap it for you using the De-Spam function.

Isn't all of Mu.Nu under the MT Blacklist umbrella? I thought so, but maybe I'm misunderstanding all this...

All MuNu blogs can be protected under the Blacklist umbrella. They've got to be turned on individually though. Log into MT and go to http://blog.mu.nu/cgi/mt-blacklist.cgi?__mode=config. You'll be able to turn on/off Blacklist for each blog that you have permissions for.

Jim, thanks! That's cool. It looks like when Pixy set me up, at least, he already did that. Thanks, again, Pixy!

Well, for the computer lingo illiterate that I am, that doesn't work, Jim. I keep getting an error. Here is the direct link if someone can figure out how to "De-Spam" with one click- all my efforts have been frustrated and I need to step away from this annoying situation. I just don't have the time to individually click 2364 spam entries and then delete them.

Any help would be much appreciated and I would gladly throw a little blog-attention to rescuers way.

O.K. Wait, so all thsoe entries actually spammers that have been blacklisted? I am totally confused now....I didn't even plan to touch the computer for the next five days....

Rae, this may or may not help, but i've noticed when i click the link to MT Blacklist that appears at the bottom of the comment notification e-mail, sometimes i'll get an error message if i'm not already logged in to my blog.mu.nu site. So i usually log in to MT first, then go to the e-mail and click the link to MT blacklist.

Hi Rae. Yes, those are the spammers we've already blocked :)

Are you getting an email when you get comments? If so, when you get spam, just click on the link in the email.
