Remembering Info in Comments

For some reason my blog doesn't remember user info for frequent commenters (me--which is annoying). Even when "Yes" is chosen and cookies are enabled. Any suggestions?

Also, I notice that when my comments page opens up, frequently the text is blank until I scroll up and down a few times. Possibly a problem on my end, but maybe others have experienced this.

UPDATE: Most of the comments tended to think this was a user-end problem. I don't. The reason is that the problem persists across a number of internet surfing platforms. For instance, it doesn't seem to matter wheter one is using IE, Netscape, or Mozilla. I'm thinking that there is a problem in our comments template with whatever code sends cookies since it seems to affect so many of us.

This is a job for Madfish Willlie!

The whitespace instead of text has to do with specifying a background color instead of "clear" for one of the div elements. Sorry I don't remember which one. Anybody?

The comments is a recurring problem. Try reducing your browser's resistance to cookies.

Don't know if this will help, but after I uninstalled and reinstalled Mozilla the comments at various munu blogs didn't remember me--until I commented and and saved the info at my own blog--then, ta da! the comments boxes across munuvia remembered me....(does not work for non-pop up boxes, like here )

I posted about this not too long ago as well. It doesn't work for me even if I click remember personal info. :( It's a pain to have to enter your own information time and time again in your own comments. I wish I had an answer to this.

Rusty, I know that Jim was having all kinds of problems on my comments under IE - but when I posted on my site to see if anyone else had a problem, I didn't get any response at all. So I still don't know why there is a problem with some IE browsers, but not others (my IE browser resolves the comment box just fine...) *sigh*

Some sites I do have problems with the blog retaining my info, others there is no problem. I haven't figured that one out either. I use Firefox for browsing now, most of the time.

I think it's the 'Man', keeping us down.

I have intermittent failure-to-remember-me problems here at MuNu and at other sites as well. I can't work out what it is :(

Did you try double clicking on the field? Usually my info doesn't appear, but when I double click it appears in a dropdown menu, then I click on the dropdown.

Rusty, the problems I have with that idea is that (a) it's not consistent, (b) we're all using different comment templates, and (c) it happens to me on other blogs too.

I'm not saying you're wrong, mind; just that I'm not sure. But I will poke around some more this weekend.
