Hi kids.
As suggested by Paul, I've renamed the comments script here at MuNu. For this to take effect, though, everyone needs to rebuild their blog. Just click on the "Rebuild Site" button; it only takes a couple of minutes. Then leave a note here to let me know.
Any new posts will automatically use the new script, so if I turn off the old script in, say, a week's time, that will have the same effect as turning off comments to older posts (at least until you rebuild).
Posted by Pixy Misa at October 24, 2004 02:29 PMI am rebuilt. So does this mean my old posts will automatically close the comments after two weeks' time?
Posted by Helen at October 24, 2004 05:01 PMErr, not exactly. There are two separate things going on here.
I'm still looking for best comment-closer. I have MT-Close2 installed, but it's not automatic.
Posted by Pixy Misa at October 24, 2004 05:05 PMRebuilt Madfish Willie's, and all sub-blogs, and SAPSA...
Posted by Madfish Willie at October 24, 2004 06:24 PMRocket Jones, the Skunkworks and Fear Your Future are all rebuilt. I let Mookie know too so she should be doing a rebuild sometime today.

Posted by frinklin at October 24, 2004 09:44 PMHold The Mayo rebuilt.
And one vote cast for a comment closing system that allows for greater individual control.
I currently have a lively debate going on in the comments of post from Sept 03! that I do not want to shut down if it can be avoided.
Posted by Stephen Macklin at October 24, 2004 10:07 PMBlather Review and Consent of the Governed have been rebuilt.
Anybody know why I regularly get a "comment could not be loaded for de-spamming" error message? I had 5 comments posted to old posts by the same spammer today and can't get rid of any of 'em using blacklist. Hrmmph!
Posted by Tuning Spork at October 24, 2004 10:42 PMSpork, that's probably because I've already zapped it.
Posted by Pixy Misa at October 25, 2004 04:21 AMI'm rebuilt. By the way here's another anti-spam thing: it's a code a human has to enter in MT comments for the comment to go through. Small extra annoyance for great gains...
Is it just me or has spam mulitplied massively in the last few weeks?
Posted by Simon at October 25, 2004 07:10 AMPatriot Paradox rebuilt, and I even posted the Philosopher's Drinking Song!
Posted by Nick Queen at October 25, 2004 07:23 AMSpam does seem to be on the rise, but I hate those enter-the-illegible-code things. Grrr!
Posted by Pixy Misa at October 25, 2004 07:58 AMJennifer's History and Stuff--done.
Frank J Fan Club--inactive, but done.
Front Line Voices--ditto.
Amish Tech Support--not mine, but done.
Publius & Co. has been rebuilt. Heck, I even posted something!
Posted by Victort at October 25, 2004 08:01 PMannika's journal is rebuilt. What do i get for it?
Posted by annika at October 25, 2004 08:49 PMRebuilt. Thanks, Pixy, as always, for all that you do for us. And I'd add my vote to Stephen's to allow us some individual control, if at all possible, over closing comments. I just had an interesting comment today on an old post.
Posted by Random Penseur at October 25, 2004 10:57 PMAnd Protomonkey too.
Don't ever forget the monkeys. They really hate that.
Posted by Jim at October 26, 2004 11:33 PMThanks guys.
I'll disable the old script tonight. Since any comment or post in the last couple of days would have done a rebuild anyway, it shouldn't cause too many problems...
