Screw the spammers

Google has launched an anti-spammer initiative with the "nofollow" anchor tag reference. MT details here. Can we implement this wonderful little doohicky here in Munuviana?

But shouldn't legitimate commenters get the Google boost?

The Google boost is minimal. Spammers get a big boost because they are putting thousands and thousands of links out.

In any case though, how many people are really posting links in other folks comments? I get a decent number of comments but very very few have hyperlinks in them. It might be different for me because I'm not a poli or mil blogger I guess.

Mmm. If they're doing what I think they're doing, it would require a software patch. When it comes out, I'll apply it.

Looks like the plug-in is already available for MT3 and MT2.661.
