So can someone please enlighten me...who is this "emigre", then?
Posted by Jennifer at June 10, 2005 05:36 PMI don't who "emigre" is but I can accept that as s mission statement!
Posted by Stephen Macklin at June 10, 2005 06:32 PMWow, if I wasn't just posing as a right wing extremist, I'd probably tell him that I don't give a fig for what the vast majority of the global population thinks of our democratically elected President. It was *our* choice, and their opinion isn't needed nor wanted.
And I feel that way regardless of who's in the White House.
Posted by Ted at June 11, 2005 01:44 AMWow. I've been called a lot of things, but I've never been called an extremist communist parasite... or an extremist bush rightwinger.
Interesting.
Can someone create us a little logo declaring what we really are? We just sound so... menacing!
Posted by Bou at June 11, 2005 01:55 AMI rather liked it, which is why I put it up.
There's a possibility she's talking about the Anti-Idiotarian Rottweiler rather than mu.nu, but her prose is so confused that it's impossible to tell.
Posted by Pixy Misa at June 11, 2005 04:10 AMWell, I am a bit confused...are we communists or are we right-wingers? Maybe she's just covering all the bases?
Posted by Jennifer at June 11, 2005 04:13 AMWait. We're communists posing as right-wingers. Okay, cool.
Posted by Jennifer at June 11, 2005 04:14 AMYeah... someone needs to use the dictionary a bit more before ranting... and handful? I think we're more than a handful now.
Posted by Oorgo at June 11, 2005 07:28 AMI guess that makes us Fascists, being right-wingers and Commies.....
I love it. Somebody make that graphic!
Posted by caltechgirl at June 11, 2005 07:52 AMI'm glad you put it up there, Pixy, because it's really funny.
What a pathetic Whack.
And Oorgo is right, we're kind of more than a handful. Doesn't she know that we rule the blogosphere?! Muwahahahahaha! Oh wait, that's her claim. Sheesh.
Posted by Boudicca at June 12, 2005 01:47 AMI'm pretty sure the whole deal with the rant from "emigre" is a result of his childish harassment of
our fellow Munuvian, Delftsman (http://delftsman.mu.nu/).
If you want a clearer picture on the story, visit Eric's post here:

I absolutely can't stand that whole description and basically retaliate against any political connotations. Besides, it's assuming that all Munuvians are Americans or based in America, and that's not true. I think it's repugnant. I would like to remove it and replace it with something less political like "We're just cool" or something simple like that.
Posted by Helen at June 13, 2005 07:31 AMHelen, the fact that the quote is so logically conflicted and broad that it's meaningless is what makes it funny. It's not political, in the same way that a monkey stepping on poo is not performance art.
Posted by Ted at June 13, 2005 09:49 AMBut it is political simply because some yob has decided to label the whole lot of us as "extreme right-wingers". Whether or not it's true is a different matter. I just hate any kind of political labelling and connotation.
Posted by Helen at June 13, 2005 01:01 PMWell, I think it's served its purpose. Hmm. Okay, new quote coming up.
Posted by Pixy Misa at June 13, 2005 01:15 PMTed,
I STRONGLY disagree with your "monkey stepping on poo is not performance art." comment.
You try to gracefully step on poo that was probably thrown at you by someone else in your monkey clan and make it entertaining.
Betcha can't.
Posted by kyer at June 13, 2005 05:07 PMI can see a please explain is neccessary for some.
Ted and Kyer, thanks but are you sure your hands/shoes are clean?
Posted by emigre at June 13, 2005 05:48 PMPs, how about "Mu.nu - we're sorry but even we're not sure who we are".
Posted by emigre at June 13, 2005 05:51 PMHow about "Mu.nu - Mission statements are irrelevant, you will be assimilated"
Posted by Oorgo at June 13, 2005 05:59 PMPs again. Pixy, I don't know where you got that second quote from but frankly it's rank and only implicates you in a sordid sordid underworld, the netherparts too tightly aligned for comfort. And anyway, some people wear boxer shorts.
Posted by emigre at June 13, 2005 06:13 PMOorgo, how about "Mu.nu - protecting "the people" from "the purges" by smearing individual identity into one big murky overmixed pallet."
Posted by emigre at June 13, 2005 06:21 PMMu.nu - What a long strange trip it's been
Mu.nu - Hey! Look over there!
Posted by Oorgo at June 13, 2005 09:27 PMI love it Ted!
Nothin' better than a twisted around Yogi Bear quote.
Posted by Oorgo at June 14, 2005 11:29 PMI admit I was confused for a while there. At first I was rolling up my sleeves ready for a fight thinking some Munuvian had expatriated themselves and is now going around smearing poop on every surface in site.
Now that I see that isn't the case I'll go back to my regularly scheduled communist boozing. *hic*
Posted by Tiffany at June 15, 2005 02:15 AMCan I object to the current slogan on the basis that I am perfectly capable of destroying my own panties?
No?
Okay then... but I reserve the right to demolish my own bras.
