Begging For Attention

I have been trying to get lost of attention for the Open Source Amendment Project. And while it has grown in participation it is not quite where I want it or where it needs to be.

So I decided to add Technorati Tags to the posts to get them some more exposure. Everything is configured the way it is supposed to be in Ecto. Ecti inserts the tags into the post just like I told it to. The tags link to the right pages. MY POSTS DON'T SHOW UP.

I even went here and did a manual ping. MY POSTS DON'T SHOW UP.

I also joined a TTLB Community, Life, Liberty, Property. I don't know if it is related to above problem, but MY POSTS DON'T SHOW UP.

I'm just trying to change the world a little. Why wont they listen?

I've had nothing but trouble with Technorati, like the number of links to my blog never updating in Technorati, even though I knew darn well they had.

By the way, i was planning to include your latest revision in the Carnival of Liberty on Monday.

And TTLB is having problems, but it isn't, as far as I can tell, related to MuNu. And I have yet to hear back from Bear.

Hi Stephen,
It would help us out if you could clean up some of the almost 1200 markup errors on your blog homepage.

Thank you,

Naill,

This is not my blog home page. This is the group blog for all mu.nu blogs.

When I run the validation on nomayo.mu.nu I get a mere 331 errors not the 1103 for this page!

Hey Stephen, I don't know if I'd believe that validation page anyway--I ran PP through, and tried to fix one of the "errors" it found, and it screwed up my blog. I unfixed it.

I disregarded it pretty quickly. Most of the errors had to do with open and close tags where there were multiple paragraphs in a blockquote.

Beyond that there were a couple of things about the pull down menu script that I wasn't close to understanding.

I HATE the paragraphs in blockquotes thing in XHTML. It sucks. It sucks neutron stars through carbon nanotubes, that's how much it sucks.

So what's the solution?

Enclose each paragraph of quoted text in separate blockquote tags?

A royal pain in the posterior but doable.

But if you have a stylesheet that puts boxes around your blockquotes, that will break your layout.

XHTML is retarded.

OK. So I cleaned up some of the multiple paragraphs in a blockquotes. Lucky for me I don't have boxes on quotes.

I put up a really small simple post announcing the petition going on line. An what do you know, the tags worked. the post is listed in all four groups.

And what have I gotten for the effort. Precisely nothing. Not one single solitary hit.

Which is just as well because THE DAMN PETITION HASN'T BEEN AVAILABLE ALL DAY. AND THEY HAVEN'T RESPONDED TO EMAIL TO LET ME KNOW WHY.

But hey, before it went down it got 2 signatures.
