YELP!

OK, I'm sure you've probably answered this before, but I can't find it.

I have spam. Old spam. It's there, I can plainly see it on old posts. I have since closed comments on 21-day-old posts, and I have entered the names and addresses into Blacklist, but still it won't go away. I have tried to de-spam the last 20,000 comments, but it says I only have authority over 77. How do I get rid of the old spams?

Thank you...Sarah

OK, I just saw that the number of comments is not just mine but everyone's, so that explains why 20,000 isn't back far enough. But I too get timed out when I try to do anything more than that.

I've increased the timeout setting, so try it again now.

The problem with increasing the timeout is that it means that connections that should time out hang around for that much longer, using up precious memory. And memory being used for stuck connections is memory we can't use for something useful. Apache 2 handles this much better, but it doesn't work with CPanel.
