I've been getting loards of trackback spam lately-are we any closer to a magical cure to remedy this? I'm a little tired of seeing 10 comments trackbacks, all letting me know about blackjack or animal porn.
Strangely, all thr trackbacks seem to come from the same posts, some very old some more recent.
Thanks!

I have got a little hack,
And the spammers won't be back,
The spammers won't be back!
Maybe. I'll test it now.

Ping 'http://blog.mu.nu/cgi/mt-tb.cgi/111971' failed: This TrackBack item is closed.
All posts older than about one month are now closed to trackbacks. We already did that, but it didn't work. The new way (hacking the code directly) may be ugly... Okay, it is definitely ugly... But it works.
Doesn't help when they target recent posts, but it should at least slow them down a bit.
Posted by Pixy Misa at November 10, 2005 12:48 AMNow, for maximum evilness, I could automatically blacklist anyone who attempts to trackback to an old post. We'll see about that.
Posted by Pixy Misa at November 10, 2005 12:49 AMHey, don't blacklist anyone attempting to trackback an old post! I participate in Gary Cruse' Best of Me Symphony, which is for posts more than 2 months old. And I turn trackback back on for those posts because I get new traffic to them. Please, pretty please?
