My blog search engine...

...done gone broke.

Actually, I never use it, and from what I can remember, it's always been broken.

Does anyone know how I can implement a new "search this site" function? I think I had whatever search code MT provided originally... perhaps I should use a Google or Technorati dealy?

Any i-clues?

It just worked for me - but it's pretty slow. It's probably getting killed by the Apache timeout.

The built-in MT search funtion is crap when you have as many blogs as we do. Google works well.

Google is the way to go. I'm just too lazy to actually slap the code in my template. Easy way to search a particular site using google, enter your query like this:

apostate rabbits site:snoozebuttondreams.com

Substitute whatever you're looking for instead of apostate rabbits. Unless you're actually looking for apostate rabbits, in which case you should leave it. And substitute the site you want to search for snoozebuttondreams.com. Though for the life of me I can't think of a reason why you'd be interested in a different site.

I have a reason for you right here.

I'm not sure what you mean, Jim...

How exactly would I implement that on my blog? (the Google thing, that is)

And Pixy is right, it kinda works, but only after many moons have passed.

Kyer: Herbey at Bad Example has a post with the code to do a googly search somewhere in his site... do a search over there. If you can't find it, e-mail Herbey and make him find it for you. Better yet, just make Herbey find it for you anyway!
