Technical question: I recently joined the Land of MuNu. I had MT loaded but I'm not really comfortable with it. How do I swtich it out to WordPress?
Is that done through the cpanel?
If I loaded WordPress would that dump the other SQL database?
Any feedback on changing over would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
RWD

You would need to export your blog and import it into WordPress, but that's pretty easy. Just follow the MT and WordPress documentation.
Posted by Pixy Misa at March 14, 2006 12:51 AMNo good. Here's the message I get when I try to install WordPress:
You have reached the maximum of allowed MySQL databases. Fantastico can not proceed with installations until you upgrade your account or reduce the number of used databases (for example by uninstalling a script).
I assume I need to uninstall MT? How does that happen?
No, I think I just need to upgrade your account. I forgot that the standard new accounts can't create their own databases.
...
Done!
Posted by Pixy Misa at March 14, 2006 01:03 AM You chose to install in the main directory of the domain rightwingduck.mu.nu, but there are conflicting filenames, therefore we can not proceed. Following filenames already exist in the main directory of the domain rightwingduck.mu.nu (path="/home/duck/public_html/").You must manually remove these files before proceeding with auto-installation:
index.php
So that means I go into the file manager and delete .. what? Duck? Home? Public?
index.php
MovableType has already created it, and WordPress needs to overwrite it.
I've moved it for you, so you should be able to go ahead now.
