One Squiggly Solution

Try putting

<meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=utf-8">
just after the <head> in your templates, and see if that fixes things.

The only problem is this might fix your old posts and then break your new posts. But give it a try.

Which templates should we add this to, specifically?

I tried to rebuild my site and got this error:

Got an error: Fruitcake error: Can't create a new thread (errno 12); if you are not out of available memory, you can consult the manual for a possible OS-dependent bug

I get the same error when I try to open any of my archive and miscellaneous templates and template modules.

Something strange happened to the database server, and I had to restart it. At least, something strange happened, I restarted the database server, and all was well.

Anyway, you'll need to update your Main Index template and your Archive tempolates. Try the Main Index first and see if it works for you.

Pixy, I already have this line in my template header:

<meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=" />

So the bug must be that MTPublishCharset is incorrect.

Oops, I forgot some gt/lt stuff, I meant this:

<meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=<$MTPublishCharset$>" />
