I'm testing the production version of Minx over at my new blog. :)
Beta testing starts Tuesday for people who have already expressed an interest; I'll be adding more munuvians after the first group have had a chance to bang on it for a week, and then a week after that I'll start the open beta.
YAY!!!
Posted by Pixy Misa at March 4, 2007 02:03 PM | TrackBackI think I sorta expressed an interest. What's really going on is that the timing happens to coincide with my wee wifey suddenly being ready to start a crafts blog. I would be her tech support and your beta interace, but it would be a chance to expose a non-blogger to the user interface. Her mailing list has a thousand subscribers, so we could probably give the server a load test when you are ready for that.
Posted by triticale at March 5, 2007 12:33 AMNo problem.
The only reason I'm limiting users initially is that I'd rather have twenty people run into a nasty bug than two hundred. While I'm using it myself, and it works for me, I know it's going to break when other people start using it, because they'll do things I don't.
Posted by Pixy Misa at March 5, 2007 12:53 AMWasn't there some mention made of "user's guide" or was I hallucinating?
Posted by Ted at March 5, 2007 02:51 PMJust checking comments - Fluffy is back on the job.
Posted by Pixy Misa at March 5, 2007 03:01 PMI know it's going to break when other people start using it, because they'll do things I don't.Why, Pixy! Are you assuming we would act like bulls-in-a-digital-china shop with the new Minx testing environment?
(I look forward to toying with things when you open the test pool again down the road.)
((I dig your mee.nu site you've been sportin'))
Posted by kyer at March 5, 2007 03:16 PMTed - not so much; just that people who are unfamiliar with a system always find bugs the developer missed. That's why you need beta tests.
Well, okay, that too.
Posted by Pixy Misa at March 5, 2007 03:21 PMOh, and Ted, definitely a hallucination. (type type type...)
Posted by Pixy Misa at March 5, 2007 10:50 PMHmm. I wonder if I had volunteered... I like breaking things.
Posted by Ogre at March 6, 2007 10:31 PMLike Ogre, I too love breaking things (comes from being in the Army and being an Army Brat) and not only that, but I'm REALLY GOOD AT IT. Heh!
Posted by GM Roper at March 8, 2007 04:05 PMOhhh, a question... will the URL be mee.nu or still mu.nu A LOT of links are hanging in the balance.
Posted by GM Roper at March 8, 2007 04:07 PMYou'll still be mu.nu. I'll be setting up the mu.nu beta users as xxxx.beta.mu.nu, and then later on we can change it to be your main site.
Posted by Pixy Misa at March 8, 2007 10:03 PMPixy, can you tell us who the Beta "Tasters" are (because they will be trying the "PIE" of course)?
Posted by GM Roper at March 9, 2007 02:36 PMDoes this mean we will all become mee.nu blogs? At what point? And will we have a change-over time from mu.nu to mee.nu?
Posted by Rhymes With Right at March 15, 2007 11:09 PMNo, you don't need to change.
mu.nu stays mu.nu. mee.nu is a new commercial offering.
I just stuck my blog on there to get it up and running.
