And Spamdragon!

I've also (finally!) enabled MT-Blacklist. Any future spam should be countered by the response:

Your comment could not be submitted, probably because you suck.
Now I'll just do a quick test...
Comment Submission Error
Your comment submission failed for the following reasons:

Your comment could not be submitted, probably because you suck.

Please correct the error in the form below, then press Post to post your comment.

Feel free to yay.

I will now run the Despamming Thingy™...

...
...

That's a little time-consuming, y'know...

...
...

With this many blogs...

...
...

And this many comments...

Okay, I've processed the last 2500 comments now.

If you want to configure MT Blacklist for your own blog, just go to the mu.nu MT Blacklist configurating page. The only really interesting bit is customising the message returned to spammers. Be creative!

"Your comment has been rejected.
Please be sure to secure your package, guide it toward the exit, scrunch inward and go fuck yourself."

Oooo, such language. But.. y'know....

I hope the Blacklist works better than the anti-pong! ;)

Aha! MT Blacklist overrides the standard ping & comments routines, so installing it disabled the Anti-Pong. I'm now installing the AntiPong inside MT Blacklist...

Thank you God! Pixy! Whoever--you're one and the same, aren't you?

Last night I discovered a ton of hidden spam (hidden in that I could see it from the post, but when I went into edit mode, I couldn't delete them). I was so upset I went to bed.

They're all gone! Pixy, I owe you my firstborn male child.

BTW, just where *do* we change that response message?

Thank you, Pixy, it's a lovely holiday gift.

Victor - a kitten would do fine. I'm ambivalent towards rats, but maybe... Just remember to package them carefully.

Sorry, Pixy, the gf is allergic to cats, so we can't go to The Cat Store and buy one. Plus, wrapping one of those wee beasties is a bitch...and I don't *even* want to talk about trying to ship 'im. No rats, either, because I'd want to keep 'im.

You'll just have to settle for First Born Male Child.

Very cool, Pixy!

Now how do we change that message? I don't see anything like it on the Blacklist config page you linked.

Um.

Well, one of you guys found it :)

It would appear that that particular setting is global, and not per-blog. I have set it back to what it was originally.

Well, that just means it's time for a contest! We need all Munuvians to submit to some sucker someone who volunteers their text for the message, then we all vote for it! Should be fun! Except for the volunteer, anyway.
