Need Help With Commenting & Archiving & Search

Three questions, if anyone can help:

My comments work, but the presentation is pretty lame. How do I change the style of presentation?

I'm not sure if my archives really work. When I go to my archives, I get a Parent Directory listing of my posts, but not even by title, just by a number (followed by .php). Is this normal?

When I click on actual archived posts, the presentation is all screwey. I'd like the archived post-displays to look just like my site. Do I just cut and paste my Main Index template into my Main Archive template? Or what? I have no idea.

Finally, I'm not sure if my search function works. Does search scan the entire mu.nu site for hits? If so, then I guess my search actually is working just fine.

If anyone can help (Madfish Willie...! I'm looking right at you), thanks!

If you just bring up your /archives directory, you will indeed get a list of files ending with .php. You need to produce links to your archives from your main page.

Your individual entries use the individual entry template. You can't just paste your main index template over it, though - that won't work. You'll need to be selective.

And yeah, your search is broken. :(

I'm at work right now, so I don't have time to explore further.

Ace:

I'll fix your archives for you. You'll have to give me access to your site. At your main screen, on the right side, is a list of actions. Select add new author. From the drop down list, select Madfish Willie 2. At the bottom/middle of the next screen give me access to your site. In the next screen check all the boxes so I can do what I need to do for you. then drop ma an e-mail letting me know what you want done. It may not be till tomorrow night before I can get to it. I have a big commercial pool cadd design and presentation to complete on short deadline. After that it won't take long to get your stuff done.

Okay, cool, I'll do just that.

Pixy,

Thanks for the help. I'm sorry to be so damn needy. I'm usually pretty self-reliant with this stuff, but I am really out of my depth with MT. With blogger templates, I could just fiddle around with stuff by trial and error. Here, I'm at a loss.

Willie,

Done and done. And I mean done.

Mr Ace: I need access to your templates and maybe the config files button (just in case). I probably can't do everything till Fri PM or maybe Sat.

OK, whenever you can.

But I don't understand you when you say you need access to my templates and "config files button." I've made you an author; is there something else I need to do?

Ace: On the second page when you added an author, there is a list of permissions you can assign for the author. I need to be able to "Edit Templates" in order to fix them for you. After you check the box, be sure to [SAVE] the configuration.

Okay, I think I've done all that.
