I've Seen Other Blogs Do This

How do you put a post at the top of your blog, despite having other entries throughout the day or week? (i.e. how do you bump a post) Do you change the date? Enquiring minds want to know. :)

And how do you enable smilies? :) LOL

ok smilies I can't help with (although I'm sure it's straighjt forward)

To bump a post - post it as normal and then, once it's posted, edit the posted date at the bottom of the post edit screen. You can set it minutes, hours or days in the future and it will stay at the top until you post something which has a later date ... easy

One blog I visit has a blank entry permanently at the top of his blog, which seems to work though I don't know why.

Some time ago, I compiled a lsit of help sites: not sure if all will show or are still active.
I am not a blogger, so cannot help directly, but -
*new page design to copy every refresh*
*Make your own referral log - free* --- found at another ...
*A Beginner's Guide to Blogging with MovableType*
* Al-Muhajabah's Movable Type Tips*
*MT tips and tricks*
*generate format - with CSS included*
if you’re looking for a commenting system why not trying the brand new Israeli backBlog.
*??? add RSS tags to your posts*
* FREE web site stats with a fun and cool new look!*
*free website templates* and links to more
random changes on page - substitute php for html
Talk to the women at Right We Are!
*Tabbed IE! front-end allows 6 tabbed windows using IE browser - and can have multiple MyIE open if need more* see plugin Trackback v.0.9 (grossfinch) 17KB - Trackback is very popular in blog and many news source websites. This is a plugin for those who use MT but cannot take the ping function. ***** I use ver 1 of MyIE and like it a lot. Does NOT use REGISTRY - actually, you can put it on a floppy or cd and run it from there... *****
* includes many web and blog related sites - check "newest"*
*International Standard Serial Number for your Weblog*
*Buy nonstandard eg dot-tv domain name*
*Moveable Type Backups - oops* If you use standard MT backups to go to a new server, archive names will change and links messed up. Suggests using a full MySQL backup, has one for Unix servers.
*MT Users: Comments* "a short note: I have changed my comment system, because the old one - BackBlog - constricted each feedback post to 400 characters, which made commenting a bit too intricate. Therefore, I have now implemented BlogSpeak..."
