MuNuby Question: How Can I Install Plug-ins into MT?

Hello,

I am trying to figure out how to install 2 different things into my MT install:

1. Trickle
2. Smilies

ANyone have any idea how I can get these to work without access to cgi-bin and Movable Type files?

For Trickle you just need to ask Pixie to turn it on for your blog. I don't know about Smilies though.

I'll turn Trickle on for you.

We also have a plugin installed for smilies. :) :D :P :( I'll post a note on how to use it later today.

Pixy;

Would you please turn trickle on for Light & Dark and Mad Mikey as well? And CaughtintheXfire too, if it isn't already?

Gracias!

Paul

Trickle ROCKS!!!

I'd like the smiley info too, please. :)

Oh, and if anyone knows how I can add the link, italics and bold links to my comments, I'd really appreciate.

OT - My info is being remembered on comments all of a sudden. I'm not complaining, of course, but I would love to know why it's working suddenly when it's been an issue for months. Any thoughts?

Linda:

Do a view source code on your new entry/edit page.

In the head section will be some javascript code that runs the functions to turn your selections into bold, italics etc. Copy & paste that code into the head section of your comment templates.

In the body section, scroll down and locate the code that displays the buttons and their control functions. It will be right above the textarea for your copy. Copy & paste that code into your comment templates right after the code that displays Comments above the textarea box.

That combination of codes will not work in Mozilla, but does work fine in IE 6.0... not sure what other limitations there might be as far as browsers are concerned.

Good luck!

Linda:

If you want, just Copy & Paste the source code from my comments... you'll have to remove the Bloggers with Boobies code and change the code from bullshittin to Comments, etc.... that should make it easier... But first - backup your current template!
